Feeding Scheme at Ekurhuleni Primary School

Trademore Group Launches Daily Breakfast Feeding Scheme at Ekurhuleni Primary School in Germiston

In a heartwarming initiative to support the local community, Managing Director Kim Du Plessis, with the help of the HR Department, has recently initiated a daily breakfast feeding scheme at Ekurhuleni Primary School in Germiston.

Driving through Germiston on the way to work in the mornings, it would break Kim’s heart seeing all these little children begging for food on the side of the road. This is what drove Kim to engage with HR and develop the feeding scheme for the youth of the local community, changing the lives of over 2000 little souls. Aiming to provide essential morning meals to approximately 100 pupils every day, fostering a positive impact on their overall well-being and academic performance.

Ekurhuleni Primary School, like many others, faces challenges associated with resource constraints. Recognizing the importance of proper nutrition in the development and education of young minds, Trademore Group has stepped up to alleviate some of the burdens faced by the school and its students. The initiative seeks to create a positive environment for learning by ensuring that students have access to a nutritious breakfast, laying the foundation for a successful day of academic activities.

The initiative aims to empower these young minds to reach their full potential, breaking the cycle of hunger-related challenges that may hinder their growth and development. Trademore’s HR Department has collaborated closely with Ekurhuleni Primary School to ensure the success and sustainability of the feeding scheme. Regular communication and feedback mechanisms have been established to gauge the effectiveness of the initiative and make any necessary adjustments. This collaborative approach reflects The Group’s commitment to creating a lasting positive impact on the lives of the students and the broader community.

We would like to thank Patricia from our HR Department, who drives every day to deliver the food to the primary school and who makes this initiative possible. We are extremely grateful for your dedication to bringing Kim’s vision to life!
